Last week, We wanted to go to Torrence to check the city and see what we can do there. Mommy wanted to find a ocean front apartment because she loves so much water. We took the highway and I was crying and mommy decided to come to the back seat and stayed with me while daddy was driving the car. She felt asleep with me until we reach the city. Daddy was good this time finding the place. We parked by the beach and went for a walk.
Torrence is beautiful with on one site the peninsula and the other side is the Rodando and Manhatten beach. It was a gorgeous day with a little windy. Mommy wanted to run but she forgot her shoes at home. I was a little sad to leave my brother Bear who was leaving for San Francisco for a week.
We walked to a coffee shop, mommy had coffee while i was having my bottle. That's all I get right now until I have teeth to chew. We walked the city and loved it. We then went to the beach and walked over 4h. I was ok because I had my jogger. My new one because the other one broke. I loved it and we walked along the beach, had lunch and then again went to the beach and sat there for an hour. Mommy played with me while daddy watching and filming me all over. The water was cold but this time i didnt cry but what I did was aweful. I did a big poop and daddy  forgot the wipes in the car. Mommy had to use water to wash my naked butt. She took me to the sea and washed me with waters. it was cold and daddy took a bottle of water and pore over my butt. I got a little cold but when mommy dressed me well. I was just ok. We then walked all over, got to see the beach area. It was almost late so we decided to head back home. It was a great day.

One thing my mom and I have in common is our love of water, we just can't seem to get enough, throw in a great cup of coffee,  some great shopping and a big meal makes the perfect day out. We could not have asked for a better place to do all of these than Santa Barbara, in one day we fell in love with the warmth and charm of this great city.
First thing we did was drive along the coastal freeway, I admit it was not a great view from my car seat, but what I did see was just fabulous, one side of the road was a mountain the other side was ocean as far as the eye could see. Mom had to yell at daddy a few times, reminding him to keep his eyes on the road.
Daddy was so excited when we found free parking downtown, for some reason finding free parking is like finding money on the street for him. We were only two short blocks from main street, a prime place for shopping. I must admit, although I am not much of a shopper, it seemed like none of the stores were that great. After going into several "geek" stores, you know like models, toy car racing and comic books we kinda just gave up and went off to get some coffee.
After my mom and dad finished with their drinks we decided to head to the water. Right at the end of main street we came upon a pier, oh how I love piers. There is nothing like the sound of the water, the smell of old wood and the excitment of "walking the plank". It was a long walk to the end but boy was it worth it. At the end we got to stand right next to the brown pelican, watch men pull up star fish on the fishing lines and end the day with a warm cup of clam chowder and big piece of chocolte cake sitting right at the water. It was a perfect day.

_ We went again to the beach. It was around 12 when we left and as usual, I was in the back seat, not only i was in the back but I was facing the rear and sometimes, daddy doesn't understand that I wanted to throw up when I am like this. Any how, we arrived at the beach. Too hot for me but we walked all the way along the beach. Mommy as usual carried me and sometimes, she asked daddy to take him because she wanted a little rest. Daddy's job is to carry the backpack and the camera and to take pictures every time when its possible.

We walked enough and decided to branch out and take the stairs to the other side of the road. We had to climb and reach the other side of the path. It was a nice park with tall palm trees with people running and walking. some are sitting, some are sleeping and some even reading books. We walked over an hour and decided to go back to the beach. We sat and enjoyed the beach and then daddy took me to the beach and put me in the water. It was so cold i made a face and of course cried. then this gave an idea. She took me and pretty much bathed me in the water. We did bouncy bouncy for ever and then we played with the waves and again danced with the water. I was so tired and I threw up all I ate because of the jumping I did with mommy. She was so good to me but we were both pretty goofy looking after doing this. People were looking at us and sometimes, I felt like they wanted to tell something but instead smiled at us. Mommy is someone who doesn't care about what other people say so, we went back again and did it. Daddy was filming and taking pictures incessantly  like a mad man And I posed for him.
We then came back to the car but mommy decided to wash me and change my cloths because they were all wet and smelly. I had a new set of cloths, new dipper and some food.I was happy to be dry again and they put me in my stroller and walked to the other side of the beach. the pier of Santa Monica. people were smiling at me and telling me that I was a sweet baby. I was so proud of that. We walked and back to the car and the sun was setting at that time and daddy decided to go home. The traffic was so bad and he decided to go to downtown  but as usual, he decided to take a different way home but we were stuck in traffic for hours. We took an hour to do a mile and I was so upset. I cried cried and cried and was upset. Mommy crawled back to my seat to console me. We came home late but after a nice warm bath and some food. I felt great and I secretly thanked daddy for getting us home safe.

_Mommy got her day off yesterday and I was so happy to see her. Daddy went to pick her up and we came home. Had fun last night. This morning, they wanted to go for a  nice hike in the Fryman canyon in Studio City. We left home and it took some time to get there because of the traffic. Daddy found a great parking spot, here we go. The trail was a uphill battle. I was with mommy. She put me in the sling. she had to do an effort to take me up. I was getting heavy. Didn't I tell you that I was eating real food these days.Daddy feeds me. I heard that I was sleeping better and longer so, they do not have to wake up every 2h to feed me.

Anyway, We were hiking and as usual, I felt asleep. I heard them talking about me but I acted like I didn't hear anything. Mommy felt like I was pulling her forward because I  was seeping. We hiked about an hour and I woke up couple times to make sure Where I was and each time, I felt asleep. When I woke up for real, the hike was almost done. I saw mommy was excited to see my cute smile and started to talk to me. I was so happy to talk to her and she enjoyed it. Then she decided to give daddy some work. She pulled me out of the sling and gave me to daddy. He took me all the way to the car. I was happy as well because I could see the road fully with people and cars. I enjoyed being out and enjoying with mommy and daddy again. We came home and enjoyed the evening before mommy headed to work. I am glad that she has one night to go so I would be able to spend couple of days with her.

Again, Mommy & Dad wanted to go see the beaches around LA area. This time Mommy wanted to try the Venice beach and the Santa Monica beach.
We left as usual around 10am and it took us about 30mn to get there via Topenga Canyon blvd over the Malibu hills. The road was so windy and it was almost fun. It's so windy and narrow that I almost threw up couple times but no one was there in the back seat to notice. my head bounced from one side of the car seat to the other while mommy and daddy lost in a deep conversation. We hit the Pacific coastal Highway driving towards to Santa Monica. The view was so pretty seeing the ocean on the right and the hills with the palm trees on the other. I felt Like I was on vacation. "Oh, What Am i thinking, I am always on vacation, I am a little baby." We got to the beach around 11 and parked the car paying $10 for the parking place by the Venice beach. Mommy out me in her sling and she put the hat on me. We decided to head toward the beach. It was a little chilly but the sun was there to keep me warm. I was always getting some warmth from  mommy. I love my mommy.

The beach was so big that I couldn't figure it out first. The sand was everywhere, soft but hard to walk and I heard mommy talking about sand being cold some areas. We walked so much that mommy starts to feel a little pain and of course Daddy complains avout his feet cramping due the to softness of the sand. I guess that it takes an extra effort to walk on those soft sand.

I got a little cranky after being held for so long. Mommy wanted to sat down to feed me and I appreciated that. Mommy decided after that to put me in the sand to play with me. She took my socks off and put my feet in the sand, Cold is the first feeling then it was ok. I loved it so much that I played with the sand over 30mn,Mommy made me walk and daddy took pictures and videos. I feel like I need to pose for daddy each time he takes the camera.

Then we walked and walked and walked over 2h at least. the thing is that when mommy wants to walk or hike, she is the kind of people who never give up. They walked from Venice beach to Santa Monica beach. Mommy put the sling on daddy and it's his turn to carry me. I enjoyed so much because I could see his face and I was happy to talk to daddy in baby language for the rest of the time. People was smiling at us, especially at daddy for carrying me. Mommy likes to smile and make jokes about it. She loves that. We reach the pier and saw the end of the famous route 66.  And then we went to eat, well, me just a bottle of milk as usual and mommy wanted to breastfeed me which I expected from her. I was happy. Daddy had a big dish of shrimps and mommy a big salad. It was kind of late and we were so tired. We walked over 2h to get to the car and we saw a total different scenario. We saw so many people try to occupy the beach area to sleep. I do not know for sure if they are there permanently or  just sleeping the night. Some had so many stuff and sometimes, I felt  a little unsafe. This is the off season anyway. It was so late when we walked to the car and daddy put me in the seat and I started to scream because I wanted to go home to bed. I screamed so much that mommy had to come to the back seat to feed me. I was calm while daddy took the same windy road back home. It was a fun day and I loved the beach the hike and the fun day with my mommy and dad. They are so cool and I love them a lot.

My First Time with Santa

_Santa, Santa, what the deal with this red dressed white beard  smelly old guy. He wanted to have me on his hands for a photo shoot.
The story began when Mommy wanted to get a picture of me with Santa because Bear, my brother decided he wanted that as a Christmas present. She took me to this mall in California and waited to see this so called Santa. There were few people waiting for him and I was waiting impatiently inside mommy's sling. I could see little girls having the time of their lives with him, sitting on his laps,  holding hands, sitting on his shoulders etc. I waited so long I got almost tired waiting for. The lady who took the picture wanted me to smile. I was all of a sudden sitting on this man's hand and I had no intention of smiling. She tried everything in the book to do that but I was determined. I won and she lost either way, she got my picture with Santa. I saw daddy taking some with his camera.
Santa was a little strange person for me and I didn't want to stay long. I wanted to go back to mommy as soon as they stop doing the photo shooting. I smiled at mommy and hugged her like I missed her for a long time.
We then waited for a while to get the pictures and walked away. We spent some time walking in the mall and seeing things. There were so many people wanted to see me because I was cute for them.

Visiting The Brazos Bend Park- Needville Texas

_I was just a week old and my parents wanted to go see the Brazos bend park, an hour away from Houston. I was excited and when I heard. I put my smiley face up for mommy who took me and kissed on my lips. She was so excited to have me. Even tough She was so tired and I was not, she took me in her arms and nursed me well.

Daddy drove all the way to the park and as usual, he got lost. That's typical for my dad according to mommy. He has no sense of direction and Mommy is the GPS. Anyway, her voice is way better than the lady in the Machine.

We got there safe and Gunner, Our doggy loved to get out but he had to wait until  I was ready. The park is infested with crocodiles and mommy didn't want him to become their lunch. Same time, Mommy got a call from grandma and she was asking what we were doing. When she knew that we were in the park infested with crocks. She was scared and asked her to hold tight into me. The park was so beautiful and I loved it. Loved the walk and the weather. There were few people looking at me and saying " I am a little guy" well, that's true and sometimes people have to tell me out loud like I do not know I am little. We had so much fun and daddy was paying attention really close to the crocks because of Gunner and me. He kept a stick all the way. I liked that.

Then,  we walked into the gift shop, again, another lady was asking the same question. I am too little  to be there, she asked mommy how old I was. She told her that I was a week old. She flipped  and told mommy that it wasn't right to take a new born out for a ride like that. She kept going on and on and it was hard to listen. I felt like I wanted to punch her in the face. She told her I needed vaccination just to get out. And I could get sick etc etc.. You know women sometimes, it's unbearable. They think they got it all and knew it all. What's up with that. They always wanted to give advices to mommy how to raise me, like she didn't know about that. I have two big brothers and she raised them pretty darn well by herself . If she knew something, she knew how to raise boys.
Daddy got frustrated and we all left saying nothing as if we were not listening to her.

My First Snow

When I moved to Denver to see Grand pa and Grandma this December, I heard daddy was talking about seeing snow. I had no idea what it was. He was saying that I might like it. We drove all the way from Houston to Denver and there was no snow.

I was slightly disappointed. We were there for at least 4 weeks before moving to California. For the longest time, it was cold and dry. Finally, one day, it snowed so much. It was so white and so cold. Mommy decided to go for a walk with me and the dog. She bundled me up  before she put me in the baby jogger. You know me, I am always ready to go but I had no idea it would be that cold. I heard daddy talking about taking pictures of me on the way. I felt so cold that I felt asleep. When I woke up I was lying under a pine tree cowered with snow and I saw daddy enjoying taking pictures of me while mommy trying to control the doggy.

When they picked me up, I was so cold and started to scream. I wanted food and just food to keep me warm. How do I know, right? I was just a baby..... But I was so happy to see snow like that. They made me feel it and it was quite an experience- cold of course and white. I felt the cold and felt the snow melts in my hand.

That night again, mommy wanted to take me out because she wanted to go for a walk. she asked daddy to join. Of course, the dog invited itself. While we were walking that night, there were 3 coyotes chasing us in the snow. Mommy was frustrated because the dog went chasing them and it was scarey to see. Finally, the doggy came to us and we were a little shocked and decided to go home as fast as we can.
We were glad to be home and what an adventure. I still do not understand why the  snow is white!!! any help would be welcome. :)

Hiking in the Corbin Canyon- Los Angeles California

1/13/2012

Picture
_Mommy and Daddy decided to go hike in the Corbin Canyon couple days ago. It isn't that far from home. We walked and walked, I mean, they did. I was in the baby jogger and enjoying my cat nap. We passed the Winnetka ave then to some other street and got lost. Mommy asked couple of people how to get there but people seem not to know what it was or didn't know how to get there.
Finally, mommy checked on her phone and found out that the she was heading on the right direction. Took the Corbin ave all the way to the entrance of the park. The entrance was so narrow that my jogger barely made it. It was quite a hot day and I started to scream asking for my bottle, but what I really wanted was a boob but i knew that it wasn't the time.

The canyon is about 1.2 miles long and the some parts are too hard to navigate. The east side is well maintained but not the other side. Of course, Daddy, like an expert, decided to go that way and mommy pushed me all the way while daddy was taking pictures with his camera.
After 30mn, we reached the  path divided to 2 sections, right, the trail goes forward and the left was to go back to where we came. I only saw one man running with his two big dogs and that's it.

We kept going and reached an area where I didn't feel comfortable. It seemed like to me I was in the Blare witch movie. There was a car upside down by the side of the trail near which we could find a man made chair with a cushion, as if someone was sleeping or sitting there and observing us. I felt strange but we kept going. The trail became impossible to the baby jogger and we decided to come back. we walked back and took the left side to go back in a different direction since it was a loop.

It was slightly easier but the weeds are all over the path and Daddy had hard time pushing me through the path. Sometimes, the leaves, branches and other stuff came so close to my face. I was interrupted during my cat nap. I then started to scream because  not only I was scared but I wanted my Mommy. She took me and nursed me on the way back. we reached the end of the trail and came out of a different path. It was a nice neighborhood and everything was under camera video surveillance. We had no idea where we were but we kept going forward. When we reached Queen Victoria st, we knew that we were safe and knew our way out. We walked the  Oakdale st all the way to Ventura and got home.On the way, there were several orange trees daddy couldn't resist. He picked several as it was a fun thing to do. I was just enjoying my ride back home.
Location: Trazana- Cali
write to me if you have any questions and I will try to answer you. I had so much fun because I love to go out and do things with Mommy and Daddy.
